Kuwait Labour Law Final provisions: Articles 143–150
Claim deadlines, priority of worker dues and complaints.
The closing chapter covers how the law is applied in practice: the Labour Affairs Consulting Committee, deadlines for filing claims, the priority of workers' rights, and the route for individual disputes.
Two articles matter most for employers. Article 145 gives workers' entitlements priority over other debts. Article 146 requires an employee to file at the Labour Department before going to court, and lets the court add 1% of the amount for each month an employer stalls payment.
There is also a time limit for filing claims (Article 144), so keep employment records for long enough after an employee leaves.
The chapter also cancels the old Law 38 of 1964 and sets when Law 6/2010 took effect.
