Special Leave: Maternity, Hajj, Bereavement and Iddah

Special leave in Kuwait's private sector: 70 days of maternity leave, 21 days for Hajj, 3 days for bereavement, and iddah leave, with conditions and article numbers.

Important points

  • Maternity leave is not counted against other leave (Art. 24).
  • A female employee may not be dismissed during maternity leave (Art. 24).
  • A nursery for children under 4 is required if there are more than 50 female employees or more than 200 employees (Art. 25).
  • Equal pay for women doing the same work (Art. 26).
